The City of Brainerd is recruiting a Journey Electrical Lineworker. Qualifications for the position
includes:

• High School Diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Graduate of Electrical Lineworker program at a vocational or technical college.
• The qualified candidate must have successfully completed a Lineworker Apprenticeship Program or equivalent Lineworker training courses.
• Must be a journeyman lineman or combination of experience and training to meet BPU requirements as determined by the Public Utilities Director.
• Minnesota Class A commercial driver’s license with air brake endorsement or the ability to obtain within six months of hire.
• Achieve and maintain MMUA “Certified Climber” certification.

Preferred Qualifications
• Two to five years of employment as a journeyman with a utility or electrical contractor.

Pay:

January 2025 Hiring Range: $43.65 to $48.64
January 2025 Pay Range: $43.65 to $51.96
*January 2025 Performance-based Pay Opportunity: Up to $58.19
July 2025 Hiring Range: $44.85 to $49.98
July 2025 Pay Range: $44.85 to $53.39
*July 2025 Performance-based Pay Opportunity: Up to $59.79
