The Baltimore Museum of Art seeks a full-time Major Gifts Officer to lead the BMA's major gifts including identifying, cultivating and soliciting individual and non-event donations. This position reports to the Senior Director of Advancement and will be part of the Advancement Leadership team and assume a significant role in prospect management with prospects and donors who have the capacity to make five to seven figure gifts.

As a highly visible representative of the museum to the public, the Major Gifts Officer must have extensive knowledge of museum advancement operations and systems, poise, and the ability to manage a wide array of unique relationships necessary to be successful in a high-profile institution. This position collaborates with colleagues in the Advancement Department and across the institution including the senior leadership team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Develop, and maintain year-round relationships with a portfolio of 100-150 individual gift donors or prospects to grow immediate and long term funding
Serve as a primary fundraiser along with the Senior Director of Advancement and Director, building donor relationships through face-to-face cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activity
Grow annual revenue from individual donors through relationship-based fundraising and strategic moves management, with an emphasis on long-term stewardship and engagement
Provide regular updates to the Director regarding Major Gift solicitations
Track and report on fundraising progress, identifying areas for improvement, and participate in strategic planning for future fundraising efforts
Capture pertinent information on donors and prospects in Raiser's Edge
Guide departmental staff in moving individual donors and prospects through the moves management model of the donor cycle
Recruit and steward individual donors by building year-round engagement activities to maximize revenue and build donor loyalty
Work collaboratively with Advancement staff, Director, and key staff members in curatorial, education, and marketing and communications to develop successful donor strategies
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent professional experience
Seasoned senior development professional with a minimum of 10 years of experience in major gift fundraising, showcasing a proven track record of closing six-figure solicitations
Results-driven individual who passionately believes in the mission of The Baltimore Museum of Art
Strong organizational and relationship management skills; ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects on a timely basis
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook suite
Excellent written and verbal communication
Familiarity with Blackbaud's Raisers Edge preferred
Excellent presentation skills
Adept at developing strong relationships externally with donors, board members, advisory boards, and internally with senior level management, and internal staff from various departments
Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and customer service skills
