Our advertising agency client is seeking a full-time Media Accounting Specialist. While this is largely a REMOTE role, the client would prefer someone who is local to the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and available for periodic onsite meetings in their Fort Worth office.
The Media Accounting Specialist will work collaboratively with the media buying, account management and accounting departments to ensure accurate and timely payment, reconciliation, and revenue recognition for digital and traditional media buys - so familiarity with advertising media buys and plans is a must.
Media Accounting Specialist Responsibilities:
- Receive, review, and invoice clients for all media purchased on their behalf (television, radio, outdoor, etc.)
- Work collaboratively with the media team and vendors to facilitate timely delivery of invoices, media commissions, and appropriate co-op documentation
- Reconcile client invoices against approval-to-buy (ATB) documentation
- Ensure the accuracy of client invoicing
- Prepare for monthly revenue recognition meetings by previewing documents
- Complete revenue recognition for all media purchases
- Develop and maintain billing forecasts for clients to predict upcoming invoicing and account for media buys
- Oversee co-op commitments and ensure timely and accurate billing for co-op reimbursements
- Track and report co-op expenses for media campaigns, ensuring compliance with co-op agreements
- Prepare co-op media and product audits upon request
- Manage a monthly billing protocol to meet client deadlines
Media Accounting Specialist Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Deep knowledge of Excel and Google Sheets
- Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Previous experience in an advertising agency
- Experience with GaleForce Digital Technology (aka MediaForce) or Workamajig project management software is preferred
