Summary:

The Operations Manager oversees the day-to-day activities of the Operations Team, to ensure all daily functions and responsibilities are performed timely, accurately, and in accordance with best practices and procedures. Working closely with the operations management team in the Boston office, the Operations Manager also handles individual and group projects and initiatives as they arise. This is a hybrid role, 3 days in office and 2 days remote. 

Responsibilities:

• Proactively manage and lead a team of 4-6 Operations Specialists, overseeing day-to-day processes including Account Administration for client onboarding and reconciliation, which encompasses data gathering, aggregation, and reconciliation discrepancy transaction processing.
• Manage & utilize the automated reconciliation system to ensure all accounts are in proof daily and positions are reconciled monthly or as needed.
• Collaborate with the operations management team to determine best practices and make key decisions.
• Ensure the completion of daily, weekly, monthly, and all assigned work by Account Specialist team members.
• Review daily reporting consisting of process alerts and workflow status, and assist in escalating problem resolution processes.
• Provide operational support for Advisory, Private Wealth and Institutional accounts.
• Collaborate with Client Service (CS) Administration and CS managers on cash management processes, the identification of securities movement in client accounts, client requests resulting in account cost restructures, transfers and splits, and other related issues.
• Actively review and document department procedures.
• Work with the GW&K technology team for the development or enhancements of proprietary system applications, and research and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
• Develop an understanding and working knowledge of the automated reconciliation system.  Provide guidance and training to the Operations Specialists and work with the third-party vendor if issues arise.
• Participate in departmental/company initiatives including the implementation of a new accounting system.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in a managerial role in Investment/Securities Operations.
• Eagle Investment Accounting systems knowledge is required.
• Strong interest and desire to understand technology related issues, tasks and responsibilities; ability to participate in and lead technology initiatives.
• Proficient in MS Excel; willingness to learn new database systems. Familiarity with SQL query/report writing is helpful.
• Basic knowledge using Bloomberg terminal.
• Excellent attention to detail is a must.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to troubleshoot unique problems and investigate issues using internal systems and resources.
• Knowledge of financial securities including municipal bonds, corporate bonds, mortgage-backed securities, U.S. and foreign equities, and foreign bonds.  (ETF's a plus).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize responsibilities and multitask to ensure completion of work and resolution of day-to-day issues within the established timeframes.
