POLICE OFFICER MUHLENBERG TOWNSHIP POLICE DEPARTMENT The Muhlenberg Police Department is seeking applicants to join our dynamic and dedicated police force. The Township is intending to hire Individuals who have the drive to excel and the desire to have a positive impact on the community they serve. There are several positions that need to be filled. Applicants must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age by the time of appointment , be a U.S. citizen, a high school graduate or graduate equivalency diploma (GED), have a Pennsylvania drivers license before appointment, and must not have a disqualifying criminal record. Non-ACT 120 applicants start at $53,526.53 (cadet rate) during academy training. Upon graduation or with prior certification, the starting salary is $85,637.83. Experienced officers may start up to $96,345.44, based on qualifications. Top patrol officer pay in 2025 is $107,053.06. A written test followed by a Physical Agility Test will be held on SATURDAY, July 26th, 2025 and registration will begin at 0730 at the BCIU building located at 1111 Commons Blvd Reading, Pa. 19605. The written test will start promptly at 0800. The Physical Agility testing will immediately follow and will be held at the Muhlenberg Senior High-School gymnasium located on Sharp Ave, Reading, Pa. 19605. For both tests, applicants must produce proof of identification (Government issued photo ID required) at the testing sites, for admittance to the testing facilities.
