In this role, you will be accountable as the owner and champion of diverse and complex projects and business initiatives across Business Units, Technology Teams or other departments including internal or external stakeholders. You will exhibit leadership and build trust to take full ownership while allowed extensive latitude for complex decision making with minimal oversight to bring projects to completion on time and within budget following project management best practices.

A successful Project Manager will:

  • Collaborate with and align all involved stakeholders using effective communication and facilitation techniques.
  • Manage multiple enterprise-wide projects of diverse and complex scope, including project interdependencies, from initiation to delivery with minimal oversight.
  • Coordinate activities among project team members to complete projects on time and within budget.
  • Work with management, business leaders, peers, and team members by appropriate means to identify business solution objectives, develop project scope, concepts, functional and technical requirements, and deliverables.
  • Proactively make decisions, manage scope, problem solve, and lead the team as the person ultimately responsible for project success; escalate issues in a timely manner and communicate decisions.
  • Produce accurate and on time PMO scorecard and dashboards to report projects status. Communicate project status to varying audiences, from project team members to enterprise wide executive management, including milestones and realistic forecasts of final deliverables meeting or exceeding all project goals, objectives and timelines; responsible for accurate tracking and reporting of progress, issues, risks, and mitigation strategies according to the defined processes.
  • Effectively utilize project management tool kit and resources. Become an expert in the tool set for dashboarding, project plan management and other capabilities to apply consistent practices and further advance the Project Management Office maturity. Conduct all administrative tasks to ensure proper hygiene, detailed plan maintenance and follow-up, providing accurate and current information for tracking and reporting purposes.
  • Propose new initiatives that could help lower costs, improve customer satisfaction or work more efficiently. Participate actively in innovation and evolution of technology across the group. Provide continuous feedback for improvement of current processes acting as a champion agent of change.
  • Ensure IT best practices and standard processes including IT general controls and other security, compliance or budgetary protocols are followed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business related field, preferably computer information systems, project management, technology applications or product management from a 4 year college or university; or five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 years Project Manager related experience on IT Projects. 
  • Understanding and/or desire to learn travel industry and technology. 
  • Strong understanding of project management methodology and terminology. 
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills. 
  • Knowledge in various software development life cycles ranging from agile/scrum to waterfall methodologies.
  • Project Management Certification (PMP / PMI or similar) preferred.
  • Certification or proficiency SmartSheet a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Proficiency in Project Management programs.  
  • Strong communication skills with cross functional project teams, team workers, functional test team, sponsors, management, partners, vendors and users. 
  • Excellent public relationship skills with customers, co-workers & external partners. 
  • Ability to monitor and drive issues, track tasks, and evaluate priorities daily. 
  • Flexible, stress resistant, an accurate work practice and a hands-on mentality. 
  • Produce high quality documentation. 
  • Ability to influence and persuade in order to achieve desired outcomes. 
  • Ability to confidently present concepts and solutions verbally in front of a group. 
  • Ability to offer alternative solutions to program/projects scope. 
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision. 
  • Acts as a champion for the team and the company. 
  • Ability to align with key stakeholders, IT and PMO teams in order to troubleshoot issues. 
  • Positive and proactive attitude. 
  • Excellent interpersonal, consultative, and communication skills. 
  • Excellent organizational, planning, facilitation, and prioritization skills. 
  • Ability to identify problems and recognize important information with a clear understanding of the underlying links between the details to quickly identify and filter relevant information to solve them.   
  • Willing to travel, to support knowledge transfer on global projects. 
  • Ability and willingness to operate in a fast-paced, complex corporate environment.
