Radiation Protection Supervisor (Hatch 1)

JOB SUMMARY:

The Radiation Protection Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership and supervises a team of Radiation Protection Technicians responsible for health physics related activities that support the conduct of operations and maintenance activities at the facility.  The person in this position will be responsible for providing oversight of the work management processes and the planning and preparation to support radiological work activities.  The supervisor implements procedures to meet site and regulatory requirements.  The supervisor also supports the emergency response organization by filling a designated position within the on-call rotation.   

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum:

• High School Diploma
• Minimum of 2 years of nuclear power plant experience, with 6 months of  participation  in the radiation protection section activities at a nuclear power plant.
• Knowledge of plant procedures and regulations
• Knowledge of plant systems and processes
• Knowledge of the work management process
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain priorities
• Effective at building and sustaining working relationships across disciplines
• Any applicant accepting this position will be required to meet background screening and fitness for duty requirements.
• Any applicant accepting this position will be required to meet the physical requirements of the position.
• Candidate may be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance based on position/access requirements and essential job functions.
• Live (or relocate to) within 90 minutes of the SNC Emergency Operations Facility for emergency response availability    

Preferred:

• Bachelor's  or advanced degree in related area; e.g., physical science, scientific field or engineering
• Associates degree specific to Radiation Protection
• Previous Supervisory Experience at a Nuclear Power Plant, preferably a BWR
• CHP and/or NRRPT Certification
• Radiation Protection Manager qualified as per ANSI 3.1 - 2014
