We partner with home health agencies, hospitals, and physicians to deliver customized respiratory care solutions to patients in the following counties; Alameda, Contra Costa, Napa, Solano, Santa Clara, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, and San Mateo.

ProCare Medical Supplies is currently seeking a Full Time / Part Time / Per Diem Respiratory Therapist to service either one or combination of these counties:
- Solano County
- Contra Costa County
- Alameda County
Paying Per Visit, ranging from $50 - $65 per visit (visit takes 15min - 30 min)
Requirements:
We are seeking a skilled and patient-focused Respiratory Therapist to join our team on a per-visit or part-time basis. In this role, you will provide in-home respiratory therapies, equipment setup, patient education, and clinical assessments, ensuring our patients receive safe, effective, and personalized care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct home visits for patient evaluations, equipment setup, and therapy initiation
- Perform respiratory assessments (e.g., blood gases, pulmonary function tests) and document findings
- Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, maintenance, and safety protocols
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care plans
- Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on CPAP, BiPAP, oxygen concentrators, nebulizers, and other respiratory devices
- Ensure all clinical documentation meets DMEPOS compliance and CMS guidelines & BOC accreditation standards
- Maintain accurate patient records in our EMR system
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:Comprehensive Clinical Assessment:
- Review patient medical history and current physician orders prior to each visit
- Assess patient's respiratory status (e.g., breath sounds, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation) and adjust therapy as needed
Care Plan Development & Revision:
- Collaborate with physicians and case managers to develop individualized respiratory care plans
- Reassess and document changes in patient condition and update care plans accordingly
Equipment Management & Quality Assurance:
- Ensure delivery, setup, calibration, and safe operation of respiratory devices (ventilators, CPAP/BiPAP, oxygen systems)
- Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot malfunctions, and coordinate escalation for repairs
- Conduct regular quality checks and inventory audits to maintain DMEPOS compliance and patient safety
Education & Training:
- Educate patients and family members on disease processes, treatment protocols, and emergency procedures
- Train home-health aides or caregivers in basic equipment operation, cleaning, and troubleshooting
Documentation & Compliance:
- Accurately document all patient interactions, assessments, and interventions in the EMR
- Ensure all documentation meets DMEPOS supplier standards, CMS guidelines, and state licensure requirements
- Prepare and submit billing codes and documentation to support reimbursement for services rendered
Interdisciplinary Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with nurses, physical therapists, dietitians, and other team members to coordinate holistic care
- Participate in case conferences and care-plan meetings as needed
Infection Control & Safety:
- Adhere to universal precautions and infection-control policies during home visits
- Ensure all equipment and supplies are cleaned, disinfected, and stored according to protocol
Emergency Response & On-Call Support:
- Provide after-hours telephone support for urgent patient-care questions or equipment issues
- Participate in rotating on-call schedule for emergency visits, as required
Quality Improvement & Reporting:
- Collect and analyze patient outcome data (e.g., hospital readmission rates, therapy adherence)
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to QAPI initiatives
Professional Development:
- Maintain current RRT licensure and certifications; attend continuing-education programs
- Stay abreast of advances in respiratory care technology and best practices
?Performs other duties as assigned to support the team and meet patient needs.
Additional Duties
1. Participates in on-call duties as defined by the on-call policy.
2. Ensures that arrangements for equipment and other necessary items and services are available.
Qualifications
- Credentials: Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent; RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) required
- Licensure: California Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license in good standing
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of direct patient care experience in a respiratory/home-care setting preferred
- Skills:
- Strong clinical assessment and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and patient-education skills
- Proficient with EMR documentation
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively
- Other:
- Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation
- Able to pass background check and drug screening
Work Location:
- Remote Hybrid/ 70% remote - 20% WFH - 10% in office as needed
