As an Access Control Officer at a utilities location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help deter security-related incidents and maintain a secure environment. Your presence and routine patrols will help to deter unwanted activity, while your strong communication and customer service skills will support a positive experience for all individuals on site. This is an armed post, requiring you to carry out your duties with professionalism and integrity, reflecting our values of teamwork, reliability, and putting people first.

Responsibilities:
- Provide customer service by carrying out access control procedures and following site-specific policies, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and monitor for security-related incidents.
- Monitor entry and exit points to help to deter unauthorized access and maintain a secure environment for personnel and visitors.
- Document and report any security-related incidents, unusual activities, or maintenance issues observed during patrols.
- Collaborate with site personnel and emergency responders as needed to address incidents or emergencies at the location.
Minimum Requirements:
- Applicants must possess a valid Florida Armed Security Professional License (FL: Armed SP Lic).
- An Armed Designation is required for this position.
- A valid Armed Guard Card/License is required.
- A valid Armed Guard Card/License is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
