SUMMARY: Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting on all general accounting functions for the company. Responsibilities include provide assistance in maintaining accurate financial records, entering financial transactions, performing month-end closing procedures. This position will also assist in different aspects of general accounting functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare timely account reconciliations for assigned general ledger accounts, such as Inter/Intra company accounts, multiple employee bonus plans, prepaid assets, general/health insurance and provide accounting support to new start-up subsidiaries in accordance with approved Company policy.
- Support and provide back up to the non-MAPI and MAPI closing entries during the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close process.
- Work with internal MPO business partners to develop monthly accrual information and entries as required.
- Assist in providing documentation and work papers requested by external and internal auditors.
- Assist in documenting and monitoring of internal controls.
- Assist in implementing / maintaining policies and procedures for General Accounting in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS.
- Proactively identify process improvement opportunities and assist with the implementation of new systems and/or process.
- Other duties and projects as may be assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required.
- 3+ years Accounting experience is required.
- Experience with SAP and/or Microsoft D365 is preferred.
- Must be well organized, detail oriented and possess good analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to clearly and concisely communicate with non-accounting professionals.
- Must possess good verbal and writing skills and be a self-starter.
- Highly organized, strong attention to detail.
- Strong work ethic, high integrity.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to work overtime, as necessary, during month-end, quarter-end and year-end close periods.
- Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $64,600 to $90,800.
Compensation is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills and experience. Short-Term Incentive and other forms of compensation may also be provided as part of a total compensation package.
