The competitive assessment team is part of Kaiser Permanente's Strategic Market Planning and Analysis department. The team develops strategic insights and conducts assessments that support various strategic planning cycles. They assess market trends, competitors, industry developments, and disruptors using qualitative and quantitative methods. While Kaiser Permanente is an integrated delivery system, the primary focus of this team is on the health insurance industry and its various lines of business (Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid). However, they do dedicate some of their research portfolio to evaluate and uncover insights for health systems, medical groups, vendors, consumer needs, etc.

Position Overview:

The Senior Consultant will support the department's work by leading projects and initiatives, collaborating with cross functional teams, representing analysis and insights to leadership in writing and via presentations, performing financial statement assessments, providing qualitative research on market and competitive developments, supporting short and mid-term forecasting activities associated with strategic planning cycles, and more. They will primarily generate insights and advocate for action in Kaiser Permanente's Medicare, Medicaid, and Dual-Eligibles segments. We estimate the work distribution will be approximately:

• Minimum two (2) years of experience in project management, forecasting, planning, consulting, strategy development and/or execution, or a directly related field.


• Bachelor's degree in business, Health Care Administration, Public Health Economics, Finance, or related field AND minimum four (4) years of experience in strategic planning, strategy facilitation, execution of large-scope strategic projects or directly related field OR minimum seven (7) years of experience in strategic planning, strategy facilitation, execution of large-scope strategic projects or a directly related field.
