As a Substance Abuse Counselor, you'll play a vital role in helping patients navigate their recovery journey. You will provide individual and group counseling, assist with crisis management, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
What You'll Do:
* Conduct initial assessments and evaluations to determine service eligibility.
* Complete comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessments.
* Provide individual and group counseling sessions at regularly scheduled intervals.
* Support patients in developing coping strategies and crisis management skills.
* Engage families and loved ones in the recovery process whenever possible.
* Participate in patient education initiatives and group activities.
* Work closely with doctors, nurses, and therapists to coordinate care and treatment plans.
What We're Looking For:
* Education: Masters degree in the human sciences field.
* Licensure: Full or provisional license in North Carolina (CADC, LCAS, or LCAS-A required).
* Experience: At least one year of experience working with medically assisted treatment (MAT) patients preferred.
* Qualities: Personable, adaptable, and coachable with a deep understanding of patients' struggles and a passion for helping them recover.
* Compliance: Ability to pass a satisfactory background check and drug screening.
