Automation Engineer – Components and MCC
Kendall Electric, Inc. a leading regional full-line Electrical Distributor is seeking an ambitious, self-motivated individual for an Automation Engineer - Components and MCC position in the Lansing or Saginaw, Michigan area.
 
Position Summary:
The primary responsibility of this role is to provide marketing and commercial leadership for sales growth in the Components and MCC (Motor Control Center) Portfolio that includes Industrial Control, Sensing, Safety, and Motor Control products  offered by Rockwell Automation and other partnering manufacturers sold by Kendall Electric.  This role will also be responsible for pre-sale and post-sale technical support for the above mentioned portfolio, as well as competency development for our inside and outside sales teams.
 
Position Description:
This position is responsible for ensuring that the following activities occur for the Industrial Control, Sensing, Safety, and Motor Control  business within the Lansing, Saginaw, and AlpenaArea of Primary Responsibility (APR):\
  • Ensure a consistent level of support for customers within the APR.
  • Be a single point of contact to Rockwell Automation and partnering manufacturers for these product lines within the APR, and lead the Components Business strategy.
  • Execute against the developed competency plan for the APR.
  • Lead commercial activities at driving conversions at key accounts.
  • Demonstrates the ability to describe the fundamentals of motor control, power products, presence sensing, safety products, and other related products.
  • Work with outside sales to create and maintain a robust sales funnel.
  • Create, own, and execute a business plan.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Bachelor degree in engineering or Technology diploma in related technical field, or equivalent experience is required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge & understanding of motor control, presence sensing, and safety.
  • Ability to learn design practices surrounding certifications, system coordination, and system safety.
  • Strong interpersonal communications, analytical and problem solving, organizational and written/verbal communication skills required.
  • Ability to influence and guide team members when required.
  • Other responsibilities may be added to this role based on the applicants skill set.
  • Effective presentation skills in both small and large group settings.
Compensation:   Salary plus commission
