Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA)

FLSA Status: Exempt

Reports to: Center Manager, Director of ABA

Department: ABA


The Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst will provide applied behavior analysis consultation to

outpatient clients under the direct supervision of a BCBA. Prepare and maintain records and reports

pertaining to patient evaluation and treatment plans. Provide clinical guidance to ABA therapists and

Registered Behavior Technicians.

Essential Functions:

• Meet with BCBA weekly to review programs

• Complete Plan of Cares (POCs), Individualized Treatment Plans (ITPs), and Behavior Intervention

Plans (BIPs) for caseload under the clinical direction of BCBA

• Train ABA therapists and Registered Behavior Technicians on childs program

• Instruct ABA therapist and Registered Behavior Technicians on data collection

• Review data collection and modify treatment plan according to data under the clinical direction

of the BCBA

• Identify and coordinate with BCBA additional training needs for clinical staff

• Instruct, motivate, and assist patients to learn and improve functional activities

• Facilitate Natural Environment Training when appropriate

• Directly observe treatments administered by Registered Behavior Technicians and ABA

therapists and provide feedback

• Complete all programing requests from BCBAs in a timely manner

• Review technicians documentation, and data collection and provide feedback as needed

• Model ABA techniques during each consultation

• Complete consultation notes at each consultation and submit to BCBA within 24 hours of

treatment session

• Ensure Program Coordinator is completing tasks efficiently and accurately

• Confer with members of ABA therapy staff and other health team members, individually and in

conference, to exchange, discuss, and evaluate patient information for planning and modifying,

and coordinating treatment programs alongside BCBA

• BCaBAs are expected to bill a minimum of 25-30 hours per week; or bill 100% of authorized

consultation hours for their assigned caseload

• Become fluent in baselining skills from assessments such as VBMAPP and Essential for Living

• Assist BCBA with performing Functional Assessments and Functional Analysis as prescribed

• Provide assistance to any Hopebridge patient when requested

• Lead ABA therapists staff meetings/trainings weekly when designated by BCBA

• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested by BCBA

• Communicate through checking voicemail and email regularly

• Maintain ongoing communication with parent regarding childs progress and plan of care

• Complete weekly parent trainings as outlined by insurance under the clinical direction of the


• Prepare and conduct Staff Performance Reviews with Clinic Manager

• Adhere to the rules, regulations, policies, and processes outlined in the Hopebridge policy and

procedure manual

• Protect patient rights and privacy according to HIPAA regulations, and Hopebridge policy and

procedures manual

• Adhere to Ethical Guidelines set forth by the BACB

• Maintain accurate records and immediate submission of Incident Reporting, as soon as possible,

within 24 hours to the Clinical Manager

• Provide a safe and clean environment for all patients and staff

• Protect an individual from abuse, neglect and exploitation

• Ensure the patient receives quality services from provider

• Represent the patient to ensure services and interventions meet quality assurance standards

• Respect the dignity of an individual

• Maintain accurate records including but not limited to assessments, current daily notes, and

services provided for statistical and billing purposes

• Enforce the Code of Ethics governed by BACB and Hopebridge policies and procedures manual

• Participate on the interdisciplinary team, when appropriate, for the development of the service


• Assist with problem solving to improve efficiency within the clinic

• Portray a positive attitude and maintain a patient and co-worker satisfaction level that limits

adverse situations or complaints

• Generate team spirit through creating and maintaining an environment that fosters staff

satisfaction, maximizes productivity and profitability

• Attend special education programs and in-service trainings, related to ABA therapy for staff and

the community upon request

• Maintain a negative Tuberculosis screening according to the CDC

• Obtain and possess and maintain current CPR/First Aid certification and re-certification every 2


• Successful completion and maintenance of Safety Care Training

• Maintain a clear criminal record

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be

required as job duties demand.

Required Education and Experience

• Enrolled in Masters or Bachelors level program in Applied Behavior Analysis (Assistant

Consultant) or have completed Masters level or Bachelors level program in Applied Behavior

Analysis (Consultant)

• Must possess signed Supervision Contract with Hopebridge BCBA

Physical Demands:

This is a stationary position that requires frequent sitting or standing, repetitive wrist motions, grasping,

walking, bending, stooping, and reaching above the shoulder. Employees in this position must be

physically able to efficiently perform the essential functions of the position. May need to lift pediatric

population at times (up to 50 lbs).

Work Environment:

Work is performed in an office and clinical environment. Work may be stressful at times due to a busy

office or center environment with patients. Interaction with others is constant and interruptive.
