The Business Continuity Consultant II (BCC II) is responsible for driving, supporting and maintaining the business line facing aspect of BOKF’s Business Continuity Management (BCM) Program including the development, coordination and execution of line of business contingency plans to promote and ensure enterprise resiliency during crisis events. In executing the responsibilities of this role, the BCC II provides consultation and thought leadership on an extensive portfolio of corporate business continuity topics.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Actively engages and consults with line of business (LOB) leaders, LOB team members and vendors to understand and analyze strategic and tactical business functions. Identifies business impacts, recovery time objectives and strategies for the continuation of mission critical business functions during an interruption. Develops and recommends resilience strategies and recovery procedures to ensure that critical business functions can resume within defined time frames, data loss is minimized, and failed systems/processes are repaired and/or replaced quickly. Develops, executes, and maintains Business Continuity Management materials and documentation via a centralized tool in support of the Enterprise BCM program. Provides business continuity subject matter consulting support in audit and regulatory matters. Proactively performs on-going independent reviews of business recovery/resiliency plans on a regular or as needed basis to identify emerging risks and to ensure the quality and completeness of plans.
  2. Develops and documents comprehensive testing plans. Coordinates and conducts regular mock-recovery and continuity exercises. Collaborates with LOB leaders to assess the outcome of event exercises. Effectively identifies and documents testing outcomes and plan gaps. Partners with LOB leaders and teams to refine and/or revise plans post-testing and leads efforts to remediate identified gaps and areas for increased employee training.
  3. Assists senior team members and Director on aspects of more complex and higher risk exposure plans to develop greater expertise and broader understanding of BCM concepts. Assists management in the creation and continued maintenance of business continuity/resilience policies, standards and guidelines in line with the Enterprise Incident Management framework. With guidance from Director and senior team members, responds and manages incidents or impacts within the business line including activation of LOB Business Continuity Plan(s). Actively drives the socialization, adoption, implementation, ongoing maintenance and evolution of the resiliency program across the enterprise.
  4. Researches relevant industry, financial services and regulatory issues to build upon knowledge base and develop a basis for identifying trends. Anticipates and identifies issues inhibiting the attainment of assigned goals. Aligns team members to shared goals and creates opportunities for teamwork.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Continuity Planning (BCP), Crisis Management, Business Administration, Risk Management, or related field
  • Working towards or achieved: Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP); Member of Business Continuity Institute (MBCI), or related certification
  • Minimum 4 years’ Business Continuity Program Management experience
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Conceptual thinking and analytical skills
  • Project management skills including strategic planning, work plan development and implementation
  • Organizational skills with ability to persist through ambiguity and move ahead regardless of barriers
  • Ability to effectively plan time, method, manner and sequence of own work assignments
