This position will support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Western Service Area (WSA) by providing accurate and tailored data research, statistical analysis, trend analysis, and presentation products to help identify potential business obstacles and prepare alternatives and solutions. Routine duties will include researching a wide variety of data from multiple databases and correlating into a dashboard and/or report for decision makers and manager evaluation.

The candidate will be expected to develop and utilize mathematical formulas to assist in analyzing trends and reaching conclusions. The results will be summarized in recurring reports for a wide range of aviation and business related audiences. The candidate will also prepare and deliver presentations detailing the research, evaluation and proposed solutions for both short and long term program planning requirements. Other responsibilities will include working closely with management, staff personnel, and team members to identify needed information and coordinate research. Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing to senior Federal Aviation Administration managers and staff.

The successful candidate will be able to: Formalize project plans. Review and edit documentation and provide comments to improve the work products. Produce final documents from draft documents, and track documents through the routing process to ensure coordination between team members. Prioritize assigned tasks to meet deadlines and/or provide timely notification if deadlines may not be met. Prepare complex documentation such as Project Plans, Risk Analysis documents, and various other documents that include graphics, charts/graphs, tables, and spreadsheets.

Typical education and experience: (General level of expertise sought but not necessarily required)

Typically requires a BA degree and 8 - 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 - 10 years of prior relevant experience.

Project Management experience.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (filters, slicers, nested arguments in functions)
Knowledge and experience with aviation terminology and aviation programs. Microsoft Access
