Job Description

We are seeking dependable, self-motivated candidates with exposure to requirements gathering and solid experience testing custom software using best practice quality assurance methodologies to serve in a Business/Quality Analyst role. At RSI we build custom software solutions for a wide variety of clients, specializing in Microsoft technologies with an emphasis on full stack .NET development. Our clients are our mission, and our development teams learn all they can about clients’ existing solutions to update and enhance them when necessary, or develop new solutions from scratch to address critical business needs. The right candidate will have excellent writing, communication, and client/customer service skills, utilizing these skills as the primary point of contact for client communication, gathering client requirements, and advocating for client needs. The BQA plays a critical role throughout the SDLC by serving as liaison between clients and software development teams, documenting requirements, participating in scope of work and estimation activities, and developing and executing test cases to ensure superior software and service are delivered. A successful BQA will be thorough, have good attention to detail, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where every day is a learning opportunity.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as primary contact for a set of clients, ensuring timely and thorough communication, coordination, and follow through
  • Work with clients and senior developers to identify and document requirements
  • Collaborate with software development team to estimate scope of work and facilitate solution design based on requirements
  • Create detailed, comprehensive, well-constructed test plans and test cases
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities while adhering to strict deadlines
  • Perform data/software analysis to identify and document bugs, defects, and anomalies
  • Collaborate with software developers on problem replication and resolution
  • Ensure developed functionality meets client requirements and usability through testing and validation
  • Seek new ways to improve the software testing life cycle through process improvement and/or automation
  • Gain a thorough understanding of client business practices/processes to facilitate requirements gathering and client advocate duties

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree – all majors encouraged to apply, especially Computer Science, IT and Engineering; an equivalent amount of professional experience will be considered in lieu of degree
  • 0-2 years of professional experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills
  • Dependable, dedicated individual with a strong work ethic
  • Basic understanding of SQL
  • Proficiency with MS Office

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in a consulting environment working with clients
  • Previous experience as a Quality Assurance or Business Analyst
  • Previous experience creating use/test cases, test plans, specifications documents
  • Previous experience automating test cases and performing regression testing
  • Exposure to some programming languages, preferably .NET
  • Knowledge of SmartBear Test Complete
  • BA/QA certifications a plus
