Our Investment Manager Engagement Program is currently seeking an Investment Officer II to perform complex analysis in the External Manager Monitoring and Evaluation (EMME) work streams which seek to reduce cost and complexity in the external investment manager evaluation process and drive our CalPERS mission.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the construction and updating of EMME planning documents and business plan, independently advancing knowledge of industry best practices and analyzing key observations as it relates to external manager performance monitoring, research and report functions, and evaluation.
  • Responsible for actively participating in the identification of recommendations for improved consistency and centralization in external manager monitoring and evaluation practices, and support implementation and monitoring of any related business plans through coordination with the asset classes and external parties.
  • Participate on project teams and special initiatives including Investment Office Roadmap objectives; respond to requests from senior management with analysis and recommendations; prepare various agenda items and updates for the Investment Committee, as assigned.
  • Conduct thorough investment research and combine with industry knowledge to develop technical investment related materials to be used as communications and presentations for all levels of staff, including high level investment executives, as well as CalPERS divisions and external partners.
