General Function:     Develop CNC Programs to operate all shop machine tools.  Provide technical support to manufacturing operations.  Recommend processes, fixtures, methods, tooling, and raw material to meet the needs of manufacturing.  Function as process lead and member of cross functional team establishing manufacturing methods.


Primary Responsibilities:


  • It is every BPM, Inc. employee’s responsibility to be aware of and work with Belvac's current documented Quality Management System as it pertains to their job requirements.
  • Develop CNC Programs for machine tools as required by manufacturing.
  • Apply process knowledge to product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, fixturing and machining.
  • Understand metrology well enough to specify materials, substitute materials, process materials, while meeting design objectives of components in the most cost effective manner.
  • Capable of analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements and equipment layout. Develop process sheets as required.
  • Must be capable of accurately determining labor and material costs by developing structures and routers for components and assemblies.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of geometric tolerance requirements, with a familiarity of industry design drafting standard ANSI Y14.5 (1994 or later).
  • Capable of resolving any and all quality issue as it relates to manufacturing internal or external to Belvac.
  • Work as a self-directed team member with minimal daily supervision, following established safety policies and procedures
  • Ability to communicate and negotiate clearly with all levels of the organization
  • Capable of presenting technical information to large groups of personnel.
  • Ability to analyze need, specify and bring to full production machinery required by manufacturing to meet stated sales objectives in the most cost efficient manner.
  • Ability to develop detailed Autodesk Inventor drawings for burnouts and blanks and make changes to existing prints, and to determine the most cost-effective raw material requirements.
  • Ability to analyze manufacturing problems to determine root cause and recommend corrective action.
  • Communicate with machinists, designers, and other Belvac personnel and vendors to achieve optimized processing thru set-up reduction and runtime improvement.
  • Flexibility to work additional hours as needed to support production needs in a multi-shift production environment
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager


Education:Degree in related field preferred



  • Minimum of 10 years experience in a machine shop environment.  A combination of practical machining experience, Manufacturing Engineering or related experience and degree in an Engineering discipline may constitute the 10 years.
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering or other related technical discipline.
  • Must be proficient in Solid Modeling - Preferably AutoDesk Inventor 2011 (or later) or Equivalent Solid Model Package (e.g. Solid Works).
  • Strongly preferred high skill set in the use of Esprit CAM software.
  • Capable of programming 5-axis machines, lathes, mills, etc.
  • Proficient in the use of PC based software i.e.; Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Programming software and MRP software used company wide.
  • Ability to effectively cope with the demands associated with the dynamics of the position, including deadlines and extended hours as needed.
  • Team player, ability to work with and communicate with all levels of the organization.
