Come join our growing and dynamic Human Resources team in Los Angeles as a healthcare Compensation Analyst. The compensation specialist will be responsible for researching and evaluating current job positions to ensure the company is competitive in the areas of salaries and employee benefits by region and market. This role will manage common compensation functions such as survey participation, job evaluation, proposed salary structure development, incentive plan design, and associated analysis. Through rigorous and continuous evaluation he/she will ensure that compensation remains competitive regionally, nationally, and aligns with overall compensation strategy.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reviews current (and revises and maintains) job descriptions for each position in the organization; ensures descriptions accurately reflect the work being performed by incumbents.
  • Prepares and maintains job classifications and salary scales.
  • Assesses jobs and their respective duties to determine classification as exempt or nonexempt and appropriate salary range.
  • Organizes the development of regional compensation planning by region and role.
  • Monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation practices and recommends changes that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and leadership objectives.
  • Provides data to HR and Benefits team on gaps in industry competitive benefits.
  • Develops techniques for compiling, preparing and presenting data.
  • Oversees the participation in salary surveys and monitors salary survey data to ensure regional and corporate compensation objectives are achieved.
  • Gathers data from market-based compensation surveys; uses spreadsheet and data analysis techniques to assess results and market trends.
  • Benchmarks jobs against survey data and other market intelligence to determine competitive compensation ranges for each position.
  • Prepares and presents summary reports of job analysis and compensation analysis information to senior leadership.
  • Evaluates and implements job analysis instruments and materials
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state and local compensation laws and regulations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Ad hoc tasks relating to employee promotions, job matching, and survey preparation
  • Participates in meetings and/or projects, and completes other tasks as assigned.

 

Required Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field 
  • Three (3) years of experience as a compensation analyst 
  • Experience creating compensation structures and performing salary surveys within the healthcare industry

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of all federal, state and local regulations and compliance requirements related to employee compensation.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and communicate data.
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products, including Excel; ability to type accurately with precise data entry skills.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to plan and set priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with senior management.
  • Extensive knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods.
  • Proven previous compensation analysis experience
  • Proven knowledge of legal regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and the ability to multi-task and work under pressure effectively.
  • Ability to share information effectively and provide appropriate direction to team members.
  • Demonstrates organizational skills.
