Role Overview:

Develop & support Corrugator Experts Network/ enhance & roll out good practices/methods across Division; leading, implementing and supporting major initiatives aiming for process improvement and loss eliminations.

 

Areas of Responsibility:

Corrugator Process Excellence

· Support Corrugator Process Improvement Expert/Lead in the development of Corrugator Process Mastery Excellence in our people across NAPP. Aim at improving the Corrugators main KPIs: safety, efficiency & reliability, fibre optimization (PACE & Waste) and quality.

 

Board Performance and Integrity Management

· Ensure good practices, for all areas that influence board strength and integrity, are developed and embedded within each region to deliver consistent and stronger products, supporting the PACE program.

 

Yield – Material and Energy

· Provide technical leadership to and partner with the Operational Teams of each site to improve controllable waste, reduce raw materials (paper, starch), and reduce energy (steam) use on corrugators.

 

Process Expertise & Process Control

· Develop the concept of Future Corrugator and elaborate the plan to support the plants in upgrading the current assets towards this concept.

· Lead the implementation and maximization of the use of Process Control (ESCADA systems) across our assets’ base.

 

Maintenance

· Ensure good practices, to preserve the system functionality of our critical assets, are developed and embedded within each region to deliver consistent and stronger products. Collaborate with Engineering Improvement Lead to create systems & plans to ensure that the proper standard calibrations, crew care and maintenance programs are standardized and implemented on our Corrugators.

 

 

 

Development

· Support trials and lead the implementation of programs and developments that embrace the use of new materials and/or technologies.

 

Coaching/Training

· Gain knowledge & expertise from the Corrugator Process Improvement Lead over the course of 2 years to develop into an autonomous Corrugator Process Expert able to operate over the USA.

 

The Candidate:

Education, Certifications and Experience:

· BS degree (preferable engineering, technology, process) or equivalent via experience.

· H&S (IOSH Managing Safely)

· Minimum 5 years in a position in a corrugated manufacturing environment (Corrugator or Engineering)

· Ability to work in/with/between various cultures

· Good communication skills, able to work in a systematic and rigorous way

· Works collaboratively with others. Inspires to a common purpose.

· Strong leadership and coaching skills with the proven ability to set a vision, manage change, strategically plan for continuous improvement and the ability to influence people at all levels within the organization

· Fluent in English

 

Technical Requirements:

· Corrugated Manufacturing Process

· Understanding of heat transfer, steam, starch, and paper.

· Understanding of engineering.

· Advocate for lean principles, experience in lean transformation and change management

· Passion for continuous improvement and strong will to deliver results

· Analytical and conceptual skills

 

Competencies Skills & Abilities:

· Good level of Corrugated processes knowledge and expertise

· Good level of Engineering expertise

· Good level of paper, board and pack strength and structural behavior sciences

· High level or interpersonal and influential skills

Additional Information:

Flexibility to travel 60-80%
