The Program Officer I supports both the CRS Rice Bowl and CRS Speakers Tour programs through managing logistics, communication and content development. As a member of a team, the POI works in collaboration with other CRS Rice Bowl and Programs & Resources Unit team members on programs that connect Catholics in the United States with the poor around the world through the traditions of prayer, fasting and almsgiving; and helps raise awareness and inspire Catholics to engage more deeply with CRS during the Lenten season.

Job Responsibilities:


Print & Digital Production Coordination

  • Bilingual Website
    • Coordinate all updates to website, including content refresh and backend and UX improvements
    • Manage relevant consultants
    • Coordinate with internal web team to monitor and evaluate website performance
    • Bilingual App
      • Manage relevant consultants for updates and improvements
      • Manage content
      • Manage push notifications
      • Report out on analytics (downloads, unique visitors, etc.)
  • Creative - Manage internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely design and production of all print and digital bilingual resources
  • Video - Manage internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely design and production of all videos
  • Translation - Coordinate with relevant consultants to translate and proofread all copy in English and Spanish

Internal Communications

  • Manage internal Sharepoint site to communicate effectively with US regional teams
  • Liaison with and provide resources for audience-specific teams in the CRS US Partnership, Training and Engagement Unit

Digital Media Management

  • Manage CRS Rice Bowl/Speakers Tour social media channels/engagement, including the creation of digital content in English and Spanish
  • Develop social media strategy
  • Leverage mobile commons platform to engage US audience post-speaker engagement

Content Development

  • Provide support in developing bicultural print and digital content for CRS Rice Bowl and CRS Speakers Tour, including written reflections, webinars presentations, newsletters, marketing materials and more.
  • Ensure Hispanic cultural relevance in all content development

Key Working Relationships:

Internal: US Regional Teams, Programs and Resources Unit, Partnership Training and Engagement Unit, Marketing and Communications Teams (Video, Web, Creative, etc.), and others as necessary.

External: Merkle, Inc. (Fulfillment House), Diocesan Directors, Diocesan Rice Bowl Coordinators, Diocesan Finance Offices, Parish staff, Clergy, Catholic school stuff, and others as necessary.

Personal Skills:

  • Knowledge of Catholic social teaching and structure of the Catholic Church
  • Ability to work under pressure and with discretion. Consistently exercises good judgment regarding high demands of multiple people, priorities and workflow.
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team
  • Demonstrated quantitative analysis required
  • Strong writing and grammar skills
  • Experience in materials development for Catholic audiences in the United States
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Successful project management experience
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop/Premiere


  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience.
  • Spanish language skills required.

Physical Requirements/Environment: Normal office environment
