Student employment is open to all students who meet the following criteria:

  • Registered for at least 6 credits in either an undergraduate degree or diploma program at the Boston campus. Please note, eligibility ends at the completion of your initial studies; it does not extend into any post-graduate semesters.
  • Maintaining a cumulative G.P.A of 2.5 or higher. (Students in their first semester can work even though they will not have a GPA until the end of their first semester).
  • Be in compliance with Berklee’s S.A.P. criteria (satisfactory academic progress).
  • International students must remain in “valid” visa status, and have a U.S. social security number.

Be a music industry professional right now!

Berklee Press needs an expert proofreader/copyeditor who is fluent with Finale, has a deep and wide understanding of many aspects of music, and is meticulous to the point of OCD, to perform copyediting, notation entry, and general office work, as we prepare books for commercial publication.

You will learn all about the music book publishing industry, assisting an editor in a department that works at high quality standards. Your skills at understanding and rendering notation will reach new depths of detail and heights of efficiency.


The ideal candidate will be:

  • experienced at proofreading English text and formatting
  • detail-oriented, prompt, and comfortable with details of music notation;
  • have a professional work ethic and general desire to learn about and contribute to the music industry are essential, in this deadline-oriented position;
  • have strong Finale and MS Word capabilities;
  • read and write technical English text with native-level fluency.

Preferred Capabilities:

  • It would be helpful (not required) to have some capability with software tools for audio production, graphic design, and photo editing.
