The Finance Business Process and Compliance Manager provides oversight and sustained improvement to Unified Brands critical business processes with emphasis on the financial impact and finance processes.  This role will be a leader in Continuous Improvement Projects as well as a manager for Unified Brands Internal Controls and Audit Support.  This position reviews and customizes business processes using the Dover CIC to be compliant at the Opco level.  Processes will be tested from a finance perspective to look for continuous improvement opportunities.  This role will also be responsible for improving and managing various trade compliance, tax, audit, and other compliance areas with the guidance and support of Dover Tax and Dover legal.

 

  • Develop and implement highly efficient business processes to meet various compliance needs.
  • Develop, implement, advocate and promote a culture of Continuous Improvement within Unified Brands, specifically within the Finance department.
  • Support the analysis, planning, design, implementation and evaluation of key projects to help Unified Brands achieve its goals.
  • Support Unified Brands Continuous Improvement programs utilizing Lean tools such as Kaizen and PDCA to drive improvements.
  • Increase standardization of work processes and accomplish measureable business process improvements.
  • Lead in the creation of measureable performance metrics, reporting and improvement targets.
  • Support project teams in process quality activities by educating, coaching and mentoring others on process improvement philosophy, tools and application, sharing best practices.
  • Become well-versed in the area of trade compliance and develop policies and processes for the appropriate personnel to follow.  Work with other functional areas such as Strategic Sourcing and Sales.  Provide ongoing support and monitor adherence to policy.
  • Manage certain areas of compliance which may include governmental surveys and various types of tax.
  • Provide audit support for SOX and BPA.  This role should be a leader in audit issue remediation and ongoing testing to monitor controls that are put into place for remediation.
  • Use the SOX and BPA processes to proactively strengthen business processes to reduce risk of future audit issues.
  • Act as a resource to the Finance department for CI projects, business process improvements as it relates to Oracle specifically, and for various compliance areas.
  • Support the Finance and Accounting Department with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.
  • Work with the Controller to prioritize projects.
     
    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong and effective communicator with employees at all levels of Unified Brands.
  • Supports and enhances employee morale and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensures quality through contracts compliance and adherence of company policies and procedures.
  • Thorough project reporting through accurate, timely and frequent communications.
  • Responsible for ensuring the timeliness, and quality of all project deliverables.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and relationship building skills.
  • Software Skills: Oracle and Microsoft Office Suite.
     
     
    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 
  • Bachelors and/or Master’s degree in business administration, accounting, or related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in Internal Controls and Auditing / Public Accounting
  • 2-5 years of experience in process and performance improvement.
