Job Description

Our non-profit client is hiring a part-time Human Resources Assistant in Atlanta, GA.
The organization works through missionaries and partners in more than 60 countries around the world. Some of their key programs are in the areas of Disaster Response, Global Health, Hunger & Poverty, Water & Sanitation, Education, and Migration. The primary responsibility of this position is to assist the Human Resources staff to fulfill administrative tasks. The incumbent will support administrative work that will be varied with work direction coming from 3 people or more. The work includes filing, research, data management, maintaining and coordinating processes and documents. The duties and administrative functions will require confidentiality, initiative, good independent judgment and the ability to handle sensitive information.

  • The incumbent will maintain and coordinate documents and records for the agency's case management system for employee relations and investigations.
  • Coordinates system updates and maintenance to run eligibility files and maintain accurate user data.
  • Enter and upload supporting documents for Employee Relations (ER) and Investigations cases.
  • Maintains Human Resources files and supporting documentation, including active and terminated employees.
  • Completes Form I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files in compliance with federal and state laws. Process I-9 information through E-Verify and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Supports new hire onboarding, including but not limited to: set up in HRIS systems, preparing and mailing new hire packets and corresponding documents, creating corresponding folders and labels, auditing files for proper documentation, maintaining filing systems.
  • Provides HRIS system upkeep and database management support, including but not limited to changes and maintenance of: names, job titles, supervisor changes, banking information, tax information.
  • Runs scheduled and adhoc reports to support data analysis.
  • Schedule meetings and appointments and gather related documents for meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent work experience with some college.
  • At least two (2) years of experience working in human resources or compliance environment.
  • Proven PC skills, highly proficient in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), experience in HRIS systems.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to complete all tasks (routine or urgent) in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work as part of the team to ensure that the team needs are met and that adequate assistant is provided to team members.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Ability to interact with various internal clients of all levels and at different geographic locations throughout the world.
  • Understanding and demonstrating good problem-solving skills.
  • Calendar management/document management.
  • Ability to understand and respect cultural, religious and political environments and to use diplomacy when working with staff, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working in a faith-based context.
  • Fluency in English is required, with additional ability to speak Spanish is preferred.
