Job Description

The Metro Group, Inc., an established water treatment and boiler services company, is currently looking for a Human Resources Coordinator. The selected individual will perform a broad range of support activities within our Corporate Support Department to ensure the highest level of satisfaction to our employee population. In this position, the Human Resources Coordinator will be responsible for providing administrative support and facilitating key employee-relations functions.

 

Key areas of responsibility:

  • Perform employee on-boarding and benefits meetings for new hires; ensure collection of all required information and paperwork-sign off on checklist
  • Answer employee inquiries regarding payroll & benefits (Insurance, 401K, FSA, etc.)
  • Reporting & management of Worker’s Comp, disability, and supplemental benefit claims. Provide monthly report to Manager on new claims reported.
  • Review benefits provider invoices for accuracy and make necessary adjustments
  • Spearhead recruitment cycle: post jobs to various channels, source candidates, assess applicant aptitudes during initial phone screening, schedule interview with hiring manager, and conduct reference checks, if necessary.
  • Process employee information requests including but not limited to employment verification letters, driver’s license clearance checks and wage earnings statements
  • Participate in HR related initiatives & projects including the production of various reports on a regular and ad-hoc basis
  • Periodically audit the Payroll and Attendance platform to ensure data integrity
  • Provide support for weekly payroll submissions
  • File personnel records and maintain confidential documentation

 

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • One year of prior Human Resources experience required
  • One year of prior Recruitment experience preferred
  • Knowledge of HRIS and other HR-related data systems
  • Excellent Customer Service and Communication Skills
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office applications (including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • High energy, self-motivated individual driven to see issues through to resolution
  • Flexibility to handle time-sensitive matters as they arise while continuing workflow
  • Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
  • Ability to multi-task in fast paced environment with a commitment to responsiveness and customer/co-worker satisfaction
