Description:

The Denial Specialist will undertake a variety of financial and non-financial tasks in order to help guarantee the companys revenues and collect payments owed. You will manage and handle the processing, correcting and refiling of insurance denials.


Responsibilities

  • Manage insurance denials
  • Correct and resubmit insurance claims
  • Document information, including calls with insurance, in computer programs
  • Organize paperwork for speedy processing
  • Review and correct Denial information process denials
  • Use computer system to add and distribute information to patient electronic records or other appropriate sources
  • Copy, sort, and assemble documents as needed
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions
  • Maintain satisfactory, regular and predictable attendance by reporting to work as scheduled and keeping unscheduled absences to a minimum
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and follows HIPAA Guidelines
  • Display a consistently positive, cooperative, self-motivated, courteous and professional attitude
  • Other duties as assigned
. Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with processing insurance claims
  • At least one year work experience in an insurance or medical office setting
  • Word processing, Excel, and computer skills Must be reliable and thorough in task follow up
  • Must be pro-active and able to prioritize tasks
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong computer skills including accurate data entry
  • Must be very comfortable working on the computer
  • Willing to participate in staff development activities as assigned.
  • Willing to observe and follow all agency and departmental philosophies, policies, procedures and the Agency Standards of Conduct and Code of Ethics.
  • Must have reliable transportation

Expected Hours of Work


The expected hours of work are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday-Friday. Additional hours outside of regular work hours may be requested as this position is eligible for overtime.


Physical Demands


This is a stationary position that requires frequent sitting or standing, repetitive wrist motions, grasping, speaking, listening, close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.. Work Environment


Work is performed in an office environment. Work may be stressful at times due to a busy office. Interaction with others is constant and interruptive.
