Our Client, a world-leading environmental services corporation based in Houston, TX, has an Immediate Opportunity for an experienced Logistics Engineer to join their team on a long-term contract basis. Our team leverages best in class logistics tools to optimize our fleet routes. This requires an efficient means of collecting, analyzing, organizing and utilizing large volumes of data. This role will call for Data Analytics experience to compliment the primary Logistics Engineering function. This position will have interacting with Management, Business and Technology Leadership as well as Field Operations; therefore, presentation skills and collaboration skills are also a must.

The selected resource will likely have 2-5 years of professional experience combining Logistics Engineering with Data Analytics.

The Logistics Engineer performs intermediate-level engineering techniques and procedures. Determines the most effective methods to safely and efficiently utilize resources driving operational improvement and enhanced customer service. Provides intermediate level analysis in order to support and enhance operational reporting overall department workflow, customer service, improvement and work quality.

  • Prepares reports on data summaries, changes, and trends for use by management. Provides assessment and recommendations to management.
  • Resolves issues arising from internal department functions, or as brought forth by internal or external customers to assigned department.
  • Tracks issues to resolution within department and in partnership with other groups.
  • Assists with special projects within assigned department or as part of cross-functional teams as required or assigned.
  • Monitors department processes and work flow to ensure overall accuracy and quality of data and work output.
  • Uses prescribed methods and performs intermediately complex portions of a broader assignment which requires the application of advanced engineering techniques and procedures in support of an engineering department.
  • Applies standard practices and techniques in specific situations, adjusts and correlates data, recognizes discrepancies in results and follows operations through a series of related detailed steps or processes.
  • Reviews data and prepares recommendations, summaries, and cost estimates for consideration by senior engineers or managers.
  • Makes decisions independently on engineering problems and methods and may represent the organization in conferences to resolve important questions and to plan and coordinate work.
  • Conducts feasibility studies for proposed equipment and systems. May assist senior engineer in reviewing design and development plans and/or cost estimates for completing the proposed projects and evaluates engineering proposals and specifications.

Required: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, or similar area of study, with two years of previous experience.

Preferred: Master’s Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, or similar area of study, with two years of previous experience.

  • Committed and highly motivated team player with strong communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels in corporate and business unit settings.
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel (Ability to decipher, modify and write advanced formulas, create and modify Pivot Tables, edit and write intermediate VBA code and experience with Power BI is a plus.)
  • Ability to edit and write basic SQL Database queries.
