Description

We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Manufacturing team, based in St. Paul, MN.  Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, the Manufacturing Engineer is responsible to lead the improvement and implementation of manufacturing equipment and processes.  This position works closely with production and quality to resolve quality issues resulting from manufacturing processes. 

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods, testing finished product, conducting process capabilities, establishing standards, and confirming manufacturing processes.
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating labor and material costs, and estimating future requirements.
  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services, following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures, and requesting special service.
  • Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering or technical discipline
  • Minimum of two (2) or more years of engineering work experience.
  • Minimum of one (1) or more years of direct experience using CAD software
  • Familiar with design and process validations 
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with sonic, spin, heat, injection molding or any processes requiring multiple process settings.
  • Pro-E/CREO CAD systems
  • Project management training or equivalent experience.
  • Experience dealing with change in a complex environment
  • Skilled at preparing and presenting technical information
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts.
