We are seeking a Mobile Equipment Operator to join our Production Team. The position will be located in Reading, PA and will report to the Shift Supervisor/Plant Manager.

Main Tasks

Role Overview:
Operates heavy equipment (Fork Lifts, Skid Steer Loader) and a Paper Baler at a recycling facility for the purpose of baling, transferring, loading, unloading waste paper in a productive and safe manner. This is a Union Work Environment.

Areas of Responsibility:
The following responsibilities are general duties that a particular employee in this position may or may not be required to perform. The actual duties required of this position will vary.

Follows all safety policies and procedures.
Performs pre-operation and post-operation inspection of the equipment to ensure the equipment is maintained is a clean and safe manner. This includes but not limited to: reporting of maintenance issues, minor repairs as needed and making sure the plant area is clean.
Operates equipment including wheel loader, forklift, shredder, baler and other equipment, using proper techniques.
Monitors inbound material for signs of unacceptable waste.
Loads and unloads trailers as required.
Provide feed stock to the baler/ conveyor.
Ensures that the baler is producing quality bales.
Continuously monitors the equipment to ensure proper operation and minimal down time.
Performs and documents minor service on equipment.
Completes Equipment Condition Report and reports any necessary repairs to Supervisor and Plant Manager. Completes other required forms.
Ensures that equipment is properly cleaned, serviced and stored at the end of each shift.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

The following physical activities or abilities are commonly, but not always, associated with the performance of this position. The actual requirements of this position will vary.

Climb into and out of equipment.
Lift, carry and push/pull up to 50 pounds.

Machines, Tools and Equipment used:
The following machines, tools, equipment and/or software are commonly, but not always, associated with the performance of this position.

Actual machines, tools, equipment used will vary.
Machines including, but not limited to Skid Steer loader, forklift, shredder, baler and/or other equipment.
Personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, earplugs, gloves, dust mask, steel toed boots, safety glasses, and safety vest.
Tools including, but not limited to, broom, shovel, tire gauge, water hose, screw driver wrenches and other hand tools.

The Candidate:Education, Experience & Qualification:
Valid certificate(s) of training for use of equipment, as required.
Knowledge of working in a Paper Recycling Plant a plus.
Two years of experience as an equipment operator.
Previous experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.
