The Jane Addams College of Social Work invites applications for a non-tenure track Clinical Assistant Professor position. Candidates for this prospective faculty position should be committed to social work’s role in the promotion of social, racial, and economic justice in urban communities. We are seeking candidates with experience in the area of school social work.

Job Responsibilities:

This is a 9-month, non-tenure-track faculty position with academic and administrative responsibilities. Specific responsibilities include:

  • teaching courses in the MSW program;
  • administering the College’s online Post MSW Professional Educator License(PEL) School Social Worker Endorsement program;
  • advising both MSW and post-MSW students; and
  • Participating in related research, training and field engagement activities.


Applicants must have an MSW degree from a CSWE accredited program with at least five years of full-time post-MSW social work practice experience, and must be experienced in school social work practice. Applicants should have a broad range of practice experience and should be able to demonstrate familiarity with evidence-based or evidence-informed school social work practice. Applicants should be familiar with federal and state policies that have implications for school social work practice. Some teaching and training experience is a plus, but not required. It is highly desirable that applicants have expertise in using technology with a propensity to expand those skills for classroom and online use. Appointment starts in August 2018.
