Job Title:PeopleSoft Developer/Analyst

Job Description:

  • Create design specifications for PeopleSoft customizations based on business requirements.
  • Develop PeopleSoft customizations based off design specifications, including testing and detailed documentation. Customizations can include SQRs, Crystal Reports, nVision, all object types in Application Designer, Integration Broker, XMLP.
  • Support production and testing systems by troubleshooting and coding solutions, including performance tuning and maintenance. Duties will include some after-hours support for Tier 3 Production issues.
  • Participate in business requirement discussion, research and analysis with BSAs and BAs, in the role of a technical advisor on projects.
  • Along with development tasks, fulfill analytical and documentation duties required for efficiently produce comprehensive solutions.
  • Design and Program customizations. Work with Business Systems Analysts and Systems Analysts to clarify design document specifications. Identify developmental or design risks and action plans
  • Unit tests code and participates in code review process to ensure coding standards are met for all programming changes/enhancements. Fully documents changes, both in design documents and with actual programs (code-level)
  • Provide technical expertise and support for the PeopleSoft applications. Act as a 3rd level support lead for Back Office Systems incidents. Provide best course of action to resolve incidents and codes fixes for production support issues
  • After-hours support for Tier 3 Production issues
  • Additional duties as assigned. Could include various miscellaneous items related to programming and System administration

Assignment Review and Approval of Work:

  • Business Systems Analysts, Manager, Director will provide scope of work and general instructions. Department manager or Lead Developer approves all work duties. Manager or Director approves changes in systems, policies or procedures.

Responsibility and Decision-Making:

  • Manager assigns all work duties and provides general instructions. For production support issues, obtains approval for corrective steps through direct Manager/Supervisor, but provides best course of action to resolve incidents

Equipment and Software Operation:

  • PC operation in the use of software: PeopleTools 8.52 and above, SQR, Crystal Reports, nVision, Web services, XML Publisher, Integration Broker, SQL Server (Query Analyzer and Enterprise Manager). Basic working knowledge of MS Access, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Projects, Visio. PeopleSoft HRMS, Payroll, Benefits, and Time and Labor Modules; PS Financials – Pay Bill Management, Staffing, Projects, Billing, General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivables, Contracts, Projects, Resource Management

Relations with Others:

  • Work with Developers, System Administrators, Application Administration, Database Administrators, Business Systems Analysts and Business Analyst

Hardest Part of Job:

  • Understanding the different customizations, by researching and analyzing impacts, for how they fit into the overall workflow of established data processes that support a Staffing Company

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience and knowledge of PeopleSoft HRMS, Payroll, Benefits and Time and Labor modules specifically
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience of PeopleSoft Financials – Pay Bill Management, Staffing, Projects, Billing, General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivables, Contracts, Projects, Resource Management
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience with PeopleTools 8.52. Programming experience with App Engines, SQR, Crystal reports, PeopleCode, Web services, XML Publisher, Integration Broker
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2008
  • The ability to work with limited supervision and in stressful situations is critical
  • Good oral communication and interpersonal skills required
  • Detail oriented individual with excellent work/time organizational skills, as well as analytical and problem solving skills, essential
  • Highly developed SQL query writing skills
  • Intermediate Excel and Word experience is required
  • Employee must be a team player with initiative and self-motivation; must be able to follow written and verbal instructions as well as interpret written policies; must be flexible to accept frequent change in priorities and possess the ability to coordinate tasks under critical time demands

Learning Period:

  • Employee could perform most tasks independently within 1 month. Detailed tasks take longer to learn, requiring assistance up to 3 months. Specific system interactions, interfaces and data processing impacts require the longest learning period.
