Job Description

The Procurement/3PL Manager is responsible for the Sourcing and Third Party Logistic Provider (3PL) process end-to-end, from initial selection of primary and secondary contract manufacturers, packaging and 3PL suppliers through timely delivery of production inventory for our portfolio of natural products, particularly dietary supplements, as well as foods and beverages.

You serve as the negotiator and supply chain manager for all products in the defined portfolio, ensuring the most cost effective, highest quality product that delights our customers and provides an amazing out of the box experience. Additionally, you lead scheduling of the continuous supply and timely procurement of products to assure uninterrupted operations for Ideal Livings outsourced facilities. The position supports Supply Chain/Logistics, Marketing, Finance, Quality and Product Development and reports to the CEO of the Company.

Key Responsibilities

Established Products

  • Manage the entire production timeline from PO creation to product delivery. Ensure purchase orders and manufacturing schedules are prepared and kept in line for timely re-orders of existing products according to issued delivery dates from Planning.
  • Drive continuous improvement in process or production efficiency, supply chain optimization, deliver cost reduction, and manage the contract manufacturing discipline in compliance with internal controls and best practices.
  • Analyze manufacturing best practices within facilities and look to implement these practices into the key strategic contract manufacturers. Partner with the supplier to build process improvement road map
  • Support growth through identification and implementation of strategic partnerships with identified suppliers.
  • Analyze patterns in purchasing and material usage to reduce costs and lead times, and determine appropriate safety stock
  • Lead supplier performance reviews and partner with cross-functional team to insure suppliers are meeting all negotiated agreements and terms. Ensure performance metrics are tracked and communicated. Completes site audits of suppliers as needed with team members from product development and quality.
  • Proactively manages relationships with suppliers to prevent/solve possible service issues and prevent/solve possible quality issues.
  • Identify and negotiate ongoing cost savings opportunities. Create a "should cost" model for given products and understand what are cost drivers to effectively negotiate with suppliers. Ensure cost savings targets are met on an annual basis.
  • Gain comprehensive industry knowledge of best practices, processes, and technology trends to proactively adjust sourcing strategy.

New Product Launches and New Suppliers:

  • Conduct market studies to identify new suppliers and develop a robust supplier base
  • Establish and manage RFQ (request for quotation) process.
  • Analyze the RFQ proposals and recommend scenarios to key internal stake holders
  • Negotiate quality, time and cost of service and other contact terms and conditions with the suppliers
  • Manage contract activities with supplier and Legal teams.
  • Maintains product commercialization production timeline to gain go-no go decisions on projects from project sponsors (new launches/refreshes).
  • Lead new supplier onboarding activities as needed.

Third Party Logistics and Shipping Suppliers:

  • Conduct market studies to identify new 3PL/shipping suppliers and develop a robust supplier base
  • Establish and manage RFQ (request for quotation) process.
  • Analyze the RFQ proposals and recommend scenarios to key internal stake holders.
  • Negotiate quality, time and cost of service and other contact terms and conditions with the suppliers.
  • Manage contract activities with supplier and Legal teams.

Compensation based on industry specific experience.
