Precision Planting


Position Overview: Precision Planting is a leading provider of planting and harvest technology in the Precision Ag Industry. We design innovative products that solve yield-robbing issues for farmers. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as the Product Support Department Manager.  This individual will lead and develop an internal support team and develop customer focused support processes to enable our global dealer channel. 


Primary  Responsibilities

  • Create and execute strategies, in collaboration with the Sales, Marketing, & Engineering teams, regarding the dealer and customer support/education experience, enabling Precision Planting to achieve global dealer network and sales growth targets.
  • Manage and enhance product support tools and processes, enabling the ongoing, high-touch support process, driving high customer satisfaction.
  • Facilitate the development and deployment of all dealer training material for both Introductory and Advanced Dealer Training, ensuring our dealer network is prepared to install and support all Precision Planting product lines
  • Oversee the technical publication process for products, including operator manuals, technical manuals and quick start guides, to ensure that product installation, configuration, operation and troubleshooting can be easily accomplished by both dealers and growers.
  • Oversee the publication of all product configuration guides, order guides and price lists which are distributed throughout the dealer network.
  • In collaboration with Engineering, oversee Product Support’s role in the development and launch of new products.  
  • In collaboration with the Sales, Marketing, and Engineering teams, oversee the development of product demonstration stands, enabling Precision Planting products to be demonstrated at farm shows, dealer clinics, and conferences.
  • Coordinate with the Marketing Manager regarding staffing needs across a range of dealer and grower facing events in order to ensure proper technical staff representation.


Develop People

  • Manages daily activities of the Product Support Specialists, Technical Publications Specialists and Training Specialists.
  • Establishes goals for Product Support department employees, and monitors performance on a continual basis.
  • Oversees all staffing decisions involved in the Product Support department.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Precision Planting dealers, customers, and strategic partners. 


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate ability and strong passion for motivating, mentoring, and leading others by example in a dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity and experience with agriculture is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture studies or Business Administration or 5+years of management experience.
  • Strong writing and editing skills.
  • Ability to communicate and present to large groups.
