Description

Purpose:
This Specification defines the job description of Cost Accountant at Adient, Murfreesboro, TN facility, as per the direction of the Employee Hiring Procedure.

Scope:

This specification applies to the Murfreesboro, TN location of Adient.

Process:

Directs and coordinates activities of production department in processing materials or

manufacturing products in a just-in-time facility by performing the following duties personally or

through subordinate supervisors.

Responsibility:

  • Reviews production orders to ascertain product data such as types, quantities and specifications of products in order to plan department operations.
  • Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
  • Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meet specifications while working to exceed customer expectations.
  • Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing and maintenance problems to endure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
  • Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Establishes and maintains good safety and housekeeping practices by communicating efficient and acceptable practices and cleanliness levels to all subordinates and by assuring adherence by inspection and investigation in order to provide safe working conditions.
  • Provides counseling, coaching and training for all team members in order to provide a fully qualified, quality conscious work force that produces world class product for the customer.
  • Participates in the development of plant wide management objections and profit plan.
  • Compiles stores and retrieves production data.
  • Must be able to evaluate color.
  • Must be willing to abide by the company hand book in regards to following safety rules and job rotations.
  • Must be willing to report unsafe conditions, reporting unsafe acts, participating in safety/ergo committees, participating in safety Kaizen events, participating in blue sky initiatives, participating in safety audits, and participating in safety observation feedback events.
  • Assist the plant in achieving safety goals and achieving and maintaining JCMS objectives.
  • Participate in communications events such as plant wide meetings, line meetings, department meetings, and training exercises.
  • Will follow and promote environmental management system compliance and commitment to resource conservation.

Qualifications Requirements:

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervises Shift Supervisors. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and Experience:

Three to five years experience in supervision. Two to four years manufacturing background in the production area.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Other Skills and Abilities:

Must be computer literate and familiar with appropriate software programs. Ability to

create visual aids for communication purposes.
