Description

The Regional Sales Director is responsible for driving sales at assigned client locations through relationships with various levels of sales personnel and management, including, but not limited to; Sales and Market Directors, Sales Managers, sales counselors, location managers, general managers. This individual will Conduct Assurant (AML) product training and sales training at corporate, market, or location level.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop training programs for client staff.
  • Host client sales meetings as directed by client manager.
  • Set sales goals in collaboration with client management (Sales Director, Market Director, Sales Managers), and Assurant Director of North American Sales.
  • Monitor and circulate sales reports to ensure sales goals are met.
  • Consult with client management to make and execute plans for achieving or exceeding sales goals.
  • Develop and enhance Assurant's relationship with our client management at various levels in the field to include, district, regional and location level.
  • Communicate sales results and plans for marketing efforts to client and Assurant management. Deliver summary and activity reports at regular business reviews with client.
  • Serve as primary contact between Assurant and client, as it relates to sales for assigned territory.
  • Execute current (client) sales models
  • Assist in the development and execution of promotions and contests for sales achievements to the extent allowed by client.
  • Ensure travel budget adherence and control expenses while maintaining quality of client service.
  • Conduct market analysis regularly and prepare reports on the competitive environment for Sales Managers, Territory Sales Directors, and Market Sales Directors.
  • Identify and assist in resolution of customer and client service quality process issues with the Assurant Director of North American Sales to ensure a positive root cause resolution.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned by manager.
  • Conduct business development activities with existing and potential new clients as assigned by Director, North American Sales.
  • Knowledge and successful use of client website, email, and reports.
  • Successful completion of additionally assigned courses and personal development courses agreed upon with manager.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3 years successful experience in selling to consumers (preferably preneed life or other insurance sales) and training people to sell to consumers
  • 3 years successful experience in leading sales team in selling to consumers (preferably preneed life or other insurance sales)
  • 2 years client training experience.
  • High School diploma or GED is required
  • 75% travel is required

Other Requirements

  • Insurance Life license for state of residence is mandatory for position. If currently not licensed, the candidate must have the ability to acquire a license and be appointed with American Memorial Life Insurance Company within the first 90 days of hire date
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Programs (PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook).
  • Knowledge of sales and tracking techniques, client service, account development, multimedia presentation, and marketing standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, Business or Communications is highly preferred
  • Experienced using web-based programs for training purposes
  • Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously and execute assigned tasks in a timely manner
  • Flexibility is a key component of this position. The candidate must be able to adapt to the changes initiated by both Assurant and the client with respect to both sales and geographic responsibilities
  • Candidates must be coachable and trainable in both client and Assurant processes and procedures
  • Knowledge and successful use of client website.
