Atrius Health's medical practices (Dedham Medical Associates, Granite Medical Group, Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates) serve 675,000 adult and pediatric patients across eastern Massachusetts. We currently have a Per Diem position for an experienced Registered Nurse to join a dynamic team supporting our Internal Medicine specialty located at our Watertown practice of Atrius Health.
The Registered Nurse supporting Internal Medicine provides practice management support to a clinical team, recognizing the patient as the central focus. Provides telephone advice to patients with minor acute problems. Serves as a patient educator in areas related to self-care. Supports the on-going management of patients with stable chronic diseases. Monitors acutely ill patients during the patient visit. Performs a variety of procedures that within the scope of the professional nursing practice.
Day to day includes heavy phone triage, education and chronic disease management. Strong focus on titration of blood pressure and diabetes medications by protocols with PCP/AC referrals. May assist LP with dressing, injections ,IV's or assisting with procedures.
Education: Graduate of a state approved school of nursing. BSN preferred. Must maintain Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
Skills and Experience: Current/Valid license to practice professional nursing in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Minimum of 2 years of experience working in Ambulatory Care, Medical Practice, Urgent Care. Direct Internal Medicine /Primary Care experience preferred. EMR and strong computer skills required. Excellent assessment and telephone communication skills required. Experience in Triage required and ability to handle high volume of phones. Experience in coordination of In -Patient hospitalization through post-discharge outreach. Ability to work with all disciplines and in a busy environment. May require to cover Internal Medicine specialties at other Atrius locations.
