Apex Systems is looking for a Remote Inpatient Coder to join our leading Healthcare client based in the Greater Denver/Kansas area. Candidates can also reside in New Mexico.

Job Title: Inpatient Coder

Healthcare Client allowing for 100% remote work in Colorado, Kansas or New Mexico.

Summary

Inpatient coding position that codes and abstracts inpatient records for data retrieval, analysis, reimbursement and research. Codes and enters diagnostic and procedure codes into the designated coding and abstracting system utilizing 3M encoder, as appropriate. Meets qualitative and quantitative coding standards and demonstrates the ability to navigate an EMR. Ability to code any inpatient at any facility in network.

Minimum Requirements

-Demonstrate intermediate to advanced technical coding competency in ICD-10 CM and ICD-10 PCS

-Knowledge of disease management, anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, pharmacology and coding systems (i.e. 3M)

Experience Requirements

-1-3 years of most recent coding experience

-Must demonstrated competency of inpatient coding guidelines and DRG assignment

-Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office application and emails/troubleshooting computer problems

-Experience working remotely, preferred

Minimum Education Requirements

-High School Diploma or equivalent required, Associate Degree preferred

Certification Preferences

Current AHIMA credentials, (i.e. RHIA, RHIT, CCS or CCS-P) or AAPC credentials (COC, CIC, CPC-H, CPC), strongly preferred
