Job Summary

Entry-level research position.  Participates in a planned research project by following research protocols under direct supervision. Interact and recruit patients to participate in studies. Assist in multi-center birth cohort studies and patient management.  Exercises some discretion and judgment in execution and interpretation of experiments, and of data derived

Job Responsibilities

  • Performs routine tests under the direction of principal investigator or supervisor
  • Manages patient visits and sample collection, including sample shipment.
  • Performs research procedures on experimental samples as directed
  • Records and checks results for completeness and accuracy
  • Performs calculations and maintains appropriate data in online database and at site.
  • Performs tasks that require familiarity with fundamental techniques and equipment
  • Assists with planning specific research protocols and procedures
  • Coordinates schedules of tests & procedures
  • Records results, organizes data and maintains data in an organized manner
  • Attends courses, seminars, and lab meetings to expand knowledge of research techniques
  • Conducts literary searches as directed

Required Education and Experience

  • Associate’s degree, 9 - 18 months laboratory experience required
  • Relevant Internship experience considered

Preferred Education, Experience & Cert/Lic

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
