Bytecode IO is a growing data consulting company that is looking for a customer focused SQL expert to join our team. We are working on the latest technologies - Snowflake, BigQuery, Looker - with a wide range of fast growing companies. The Senior Data and Analytics Consultants on our team take lead of client projects and help them successfully deploy analytic solutions to unlock data value.

This role is remote, but will require onsite time with our clients in Dallas-Fort Worth area. The ideal candidate can work independently with minimal guidance, take the lead on deciding the best course of action for specific projects and clients - while being exposed to interesting cutting edge technologies.

- This is a remote full-time W2 position based in Dallas-Fort Worth area
- 50 - 75% client onsites (in Dallas-Fort Worth area) may be required
- We are not offering visa sponsorship at this stage

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Developing complex SQL queries (window functions)
  • Performing data analysis through SQL and BI tools
  • Perform hands-on development of data models, reports and dashboards, from inception through production stage
  • Work directly with clients (product managers, marketers, engineering team) to understand problems they are facing and gather requirements
  • Provide consultative guidance to clients on optimizing their data environment to work most effectively and efficiently. This may include advising on database performance, altering the ETL process, providing SQL transformations, discussing API integration, and rethinking the approach of certain KPIs
  • Test and validate data pipelines to ensure reporting and modeling fidelity
  • Execute projects independently with minimal guidance

WHO YOU ARE

  • SQL expert with 5+ years of experience
  • Based in Dallas-Fort Worth (or close-by areas)
  • Consulting experience leading projects
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field
  • Experience working with small, messy datasets and large, complex datasets
  • Strong quantitative background and/or data science experience
  • Self-starter with excellent verbal and written skills
  • Experience with SQL-type database administration
  • Availability to take conference call clients during business hours
  • Experience with data analysis software (bonus for Looker or Tableau)
  • Knowledge of statistics, econometrics, and other inference and modeling techniques
  • Programming experience is a plus
