3rd Eye is disrupting the traditional Fleet Safety Video Monitoring and Telematics industries with leading high-quality media and reliable digital delivery. Our services are engineered for high availability, maximum reach, and cost savings for our customers. Fleet managers can watch live streams or review safety events instantly, from any device to monitor their vehicle fleet. Our technology is the cornerstone of our industry and our customers use it to improve their fleet safety, operational and maintenance performance.


The Senior DevOps Engineer will work with software engineering team to design, develop and maintain cloud and on-premise infrastructure supporting production and development environments. The ideal candidate believes in cattle, not pets; able to leverage reference containers in close coordination with the development team.  You will collaborate with peers in software engineering, software quality assurance, and project and product management to define and develop software infrastructure (Infrastructure as Code) meeting internal and external customer requirements. You will work cross functionally with technical and business stakeholders ensuring that infrastructure is safe, robust, and user friendly. You have a passion for automation, and able to write new code for deployment, monitoring, and configuration of our SaaS environments including automated scaling and recovery. This also involves identifying problems within cloud environments, creating and implementing solutions, and keeping company technical architecture running as smoothly and effectively as possible while controlling and optimizing cloud costs. 



  • Architect and design cloud infrastructure and software solutions according to customers’ needs.
  • Enforce deployment process.
  • Coordinate and collaborate well with other team members.
  • Design and build solutions in conjunction with predetermined requirements analysis, but challenge and question potential gaps in analysis.
  • Document key work, i.e. technical design, procedures and new technologies.
  • Build and support infrastructure surrounding the internal and external cloud pipeline including, but not limited to, AWS, MS Azure, and OpenStack.
  • Support the cloud and on-premises deployment pipelines using Jenkins, Cloud Formation, Chef, Puppet, and other tools as appropriate.
  • Support containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, etc.
  • Leverage containerization technologies and design ‘deploy & destroy’ for CI/CD efforts with the development team.
  • Automate deployment of common Machine Learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, Keras, Caffe, PyTorch, MXNet, etc.
  • Support, deploy, and integrate related software tools such as Jupyter Notebooks, Python, Anaconda, CUDA, etc.
  • Compute operational support and system administrative services will include:
  • Script and automate tasks to reduce repetitive work.
  • Execute standard test plans, testing architecture, operating systems and hypervisors.
  • Support, configure and deploy virtual systems.
  • Support centralized log aggregation and analysis.
  • Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain existing protocols and any new IoT protocol implemented by the development team.
  • Coordinate with hardware and software vendors for software and hardware troubleshooting and replacement.
  • Hypervisor and Virtualization software installation, configurations and operations.
  • OS installation, configuration, and operations.
  • Deployment of system and security patches and updates, including managing the patching platform for servers.
  • Install and Maintain Virtual environment and Operating System monitoring and alerting systems.
  • Utilize Configuration Management tool to maintain inventory of systems.
  • Closely interact with Vendors for tools enabling the cloud environments
  • Install, maintain, and operate system monitoring and alerting tools: VMWare Virtual Center, Monit, Nagios, DataDog.
  • Operate with speed and agility as you rapidly build and tear down specialized R&D and POC environments.
  • Ensure instances are patched regularly and contain necessary security software.
  • Establish system and service monitoring tools for hardware and platform services. Monitor and respond to critical user-impacting server alerts.
  • Utilize source code revision control tools (such as Github) for source code management.



  • Bachelor's Degree, or higher, in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong Linux knowledge.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Amazon Web Service (AWS) expertise.
  • Skill sets include 3 years of experience with the following cloud automation and deployment tools:
    • Git/Gitlab
    • Jenkins/Chef
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerization solutions.
  • Experience with Cloud Provider Services including Infrastructure as Code.
  • Experience with Linux: CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.
  • Experience with cloud based scripting languages and APIs.
  • 5 years of coding and scripting expertise.
  • Experience with deploying frameworks like, R, Keras, and other ML frameworks.
  • Experience with deploying MySql, RDS, Tensorflow Mongo DB, Hadoop, Spark, R open-source and enterprise solutions.
  • Experience with deploying Apache projects / solutions in enterprise environment.
  • Experience with compiling software / libraries and resolving software dependence across different platforms.
  • Experience with deploying high availability, IoT framework and scalable applications.
  • AWS or Azure certifications preferred.
  • Experience with virtualization solutions and techniques.
  • Experience in maintaining an enterprise environment with mixed operating systems.
  • Working knowledge of remote access methods on systems (including ssh, remote console, serial connections and terminal servers).
  • Good knowledge of SQL - mySQL and SQL Server.
  • Good knowledge of noSQL – Cassandra and MongoDB.
