Job Description
Define and develop strategy for financial planning and advice at Ameriprise Financial. Lead work on enhanced digital capabilities to deliver our advice value proposition and processes. Lead exploration of options for advice approaches inspired by robo-advice. Collaborate with colleagues across the enterprise to ensure our approach to financial planning and advice satisfies client needs and is competitive in the market.
Responsibilities
* Influence strategy development for financial planning and advice. Define overall objectives and key deliverables for strategic advice initiatives. Partner with the Interactive Marketing team to define and deliver enhanced digital capabilities to help advisors deliver our advice value proposition and process. Identify and track key measures of success. Ensure the development of comprehensive plans to deliver initiatives. Partner with implementation teams across the enterprise on delivery of initiatives.
* Serve as a key member of the cross-organizational team to determine potential options for advice approaches that are inspired by \"robo-advisors\", tailored to the unique character of Ameriprise Financial and that complement our existing business model, both for field advisors and the Ameriprise Advisor Center.
* Determine intermediate and long-term strategy for connecting the financial planning and the investment advice/management processes, in partnership with the Wealth Management Solutions team and the Technology team.
* Ensure the prospect and client experience with financial planning and advice meets consumers' and clients' evolving needs and expectations and is appropriately connected to the overall Ameriprise prospect and client experience. In partnership with the Insights team, maintain and regularly update synthesis of consumer and client needs and expectations for financial planning and advice.
* Maintain knowledge and understanding of the competitive marketplace for advice, including robo-advice providers, financial services incumbent firms and other emerging firms. In partnership with Corporate Strategy team, maintain and regularly update competitor analysis.
Required Qualifications
* 7 - 10 years of professional experience in financial services and/or related fields.
* Strong strategic thinker with proven experience developing strategies and leading the implementation of strategies.
* Demonstrated technical knowledge of the financial planning and investment advice/management disciplines.
* Understanding of technology development processes, compliance controls, the field sales organization and the competitive landscape.
* Strong leadership and communication skills.
* Demonstrated relationships skills & ability to influence direct reports, cross-organizational partners, project teams, vendors & senior leaders.
* Series 7 or the ability to obtain within 90 days.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience as the business owner or in a business leadership role for a large technology project.
* Experience at a financial technology (\"fintech\") firm.
* Experience in management consulting.
* Certified Financial Planner certificant (CFP), or completion of equivalent coursework if not certified.
