Are you the kind of person that is a driven, results-oriented Program Manager? If so, we have an opening for you! Here is an opportunity to work with our Media team to plan, communicate, execute, and deliver our major projects, products, and solutions. In this role, you will work on products that will see deployment on Akamai's Global Network and on the sites of the top media and entertainment companies in the world.

About the Team

The Media team is responsible for the definition and development of all of the software used to deliver, store, and manage digital media and website content via the Akamai network. This includes developing and maintaining Akamai’s industry-leading products that are an integral part of Akamai's globally distributed network of EdgeServers that deliver media content for major customers and events.

Responsibilities:

* Drive product-centric core teams, partnering closely with cross-functional teams of Engineering, Product Management, Network Operations, Sales, Services, and Support to define, develop, and deploy product roadmap solutions that meet customer needs.
* Use project management methodologies and best practices to ensure the successful delivery of products, projects, and releases.
* Participate in, refine, and materially lead the Product Process for various products and solutions, including leadership of the full software development lifecycle and release process for various development teams and software releases.
* Participate in internal projects that help scale the group, implement best practices, and improve methodologies.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree in computer science or equivalent degree.
* 5+ years of project management experience.
* 3+ years of release management, or broad experience with the software development lifecycle.
* 3+ years experience working with OEM partners.

Desired Qualifications

* Master's Degree in computer science or equivalent degree.
* Strong organizational and leadership skills, and the ability to drive the day-to-day activities of internal resources.
* Experience managing Product Marketing activities, including marcom, key collateral, and event planning.
* Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams (engineering, quality assurance, release management, network operations, product management, professional services, etc).
* Must be action oriented, capable of multi-tasking well, and able to thrive in a fast-paced team environment.
* Hands-on technical experience is a strong plus.
* Excellent verbal and written communication strategies and interpersonal skills working with both local and virtual teams,
* Experience with the JIRA toolset.
* Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp new technologies.
* Knowledge of Internet and/or Media technologies (OTT, HD, DNS, HTTP, TCP, streaming, web servers, video players/devices, etc.) a strong plus.
