The Advanced Program Engineer / Solution Architect will be responsible for supporting new business pursuits, proposal efforts, and capture.  This customer-facing position requires technical expertise to architect mission solutions. 


Job Description:

  • Seeking an Advanced Programs Engineer and networking expert with significant experience in networking technology, experience in the design and implementation of IP based networks to support system architecture and development, and experience leading business acquisition efforts.  
  • The ideal candidate brings solid technical foundation and proven experience working with development engineering teams as well as direct customer interaction.
  • Demonstrate understanding of modern wired and wireless IP network architecture and protocols and have proven system design and system integration experience.
  • Demonstrate understanding of SiP and VoIP technologies.
  • Demonstrate understanding of communications technologies and network security best practices.
  • Architect and develop solutions that differentiate the company from competition.
  • Identify and/or define customers' emerging needs and develop Harris solutions to those needs.
  • Identify and/or create new opportunities to apply Harris capability and lead and/or contribute on teams developing technical and cost proposals.
  • Dynamic, success driven, entrepreneurial self-starter, with good leadership, collaboration and business development skills.


  • 15 years of related experience with a B.S. Degree in Engineering.
  • 12 years of related experience with a M.S. Degree in Engineering.
  • Experience working with Business Development, Sales and US Government customers.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with defining and evaluating business architecture to ensure customer needs are met, is preferred.
  • Ability to coordinate between business providers and customers to evaluate architectures and identify customer solutions is preferred.
  • Ability to interact directly with customer community is preferred.
  • Credibility in communicating technical and business aspects to the customer.
  • Able to work well with customers at both technical and executive levels. This includes being able to communicate system concepts to both highly technical and non-technical customer.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with business development, program management personnel and customers.
  • Excellent Oral and written communications skills.
