Job Description
Exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician in our Clinical Divert Department! The Pharmacy Technician reviews clinical diverts received from various departments and evaluates them for clinical opportunity. The pharmacy technician addresses the appropriateness of a therapy, generic substitution, or therapeutic interchange opportunities with potential cost savings outcomes. The Pharmacy Technician initiates phone calls, and receives inbound calls from physician offices and translates prescriptions. The Pharmacy Technician works in a fast paced, team setting, and collaborates with the team to problem solve and execute a high quality product for CVS Caremark's participants. The position requires attention to detail and a strong commitment to professional physician and member interactions.

Required Qualifications
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-Attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions.
-Strong commitment to professional physician interactions, ability to express assurance/confidence.
-Must have the ability to effectively identify and define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions.
-Must have the ability to calculate figures, rates, ratios, percent and amounts in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
-Must be highly organized and have the ability to multi-task.
-Must have the ability to understand clinical rationale behind therapy protocols.
-Must have current IL Pharmacy Technician license.

Preferred Qualifications
-PTCB Certification preferred.
-Minimum of 6 months of certified pharmacy technician experience including reading prescriptions is preferred.

High school diploma or GED
