Human Rights Committee Members | Gandara Center

The Gandara Center provides residential, mental health, substance abuse and preventive services for children, adults and families across the Pioneer Valley of Massachusetts. Founded in the Hispanic community, we value cultural diversity and strive to provide culturally competent, innovative services to a diverse community.

We are looking for a Medical Professional (RN, PA, MD), and a Clinician (LICSW, LCSW, LMHC) to become a member of our Human Rights Committee (HRc). The general responsibly of the HRc is to assist the agency to affirm, promote and protect the human and civil rights of the individuals served and to monitor and review the activities of the agency with regard to the human and civil rights of the those individuals.

The primary duties of a HRC member are to attend and participate in HRc meetings and periodically visit sites where the agency provides services. The committee generally meets the every other month on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. with a light supper served. The meetings are held at our administrative offices. 147 Norman St, West Springfield, MA.

This is an on-going volunteer opportunity. We are looking for a person who will be committed to supporting the rights of the individuals we serve. Advocacy experience is helpful but not required.
