The Comcast Enterprise Business Intelligence (EBI) Enterprise Analytics team is a high-impact analytics team responsible for surfacing insights and recommendations to executive leadership in HQ. Within Enterprise Analytics, the econometrics team uses a variety of statistical, econometric and machine learning approaches to test hypotheses and surface relationships between internal metrics, external factors, and business outcomes. The Comcast EBI Enterprise Analytics Econometrics team is looking for an analytics leader to build econometric models that inform fundamental business questions about subscriber growth, price elasticity, marketing ROI, and initiative impact. Core Responsibilities
- Build inference and forecasting models using internal and external datasets
- Evaluate the fit of models and communicate model results to technical and non-technical audiences
- Provide subject matter expertise in economic data and modeling techniques
- Carry out post-event analysis to validate forecast assumptions and identify all additional factors associated with the change
- Demonstrate curiosity in identifying novel approaches to answering the company's most difficult strategic questions
- Core Skills
- Use of Python to create econometric models
- Familiarity with common data science Python packages including, but not limited to: pandas, scikit-learn, NumPy, and statsmodels
- Familiarity with econometric techniques such as time-series analysis, panel regression, limited dependent variables models
- Knowledge and application of machine learning techniques including clustering and gradient boosting
- High proficiency in SQL
- Ability to leverage analytical background to determine the appropriate quantitative research tools and models for a given problem
- Other Competencies
- Big data platform experience a plus (Spark, S3, etc.)
- Ability to grasp complex analytic principles and techniques
- Strong business acumen & demonstrated aptitude for analytics that incite action
- Ability to work effectively across functions, disciplines, and levels
- Work on problems requiring judgment and in-depth evaluation of multiple factors
- Education and Experience
- Minimum: BA/BS degree in economics, mathematics, statistics, computer science
- Preferred: MA/MS degree in a quantitative discipline
- 3+ years relevant work experience in analytic role
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
- Regular consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
