Objectives of this Role:
- Learn about the Structural Dynamics and Product Assurance lab tests.
- Support test execution, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
- Communicate effectively with engineers and technicians, providing updates and resolving issues.
- Support generation of test reports and analysis.
- Assist in the fabrication activities to complete an overhead camera mast; the design is complete.
- Local year-round student position.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
- Support the design and implement unique testing methodologies tailored to customer needs, often focusing on MIL-STD-810 testing or similar.
- Assist with drafting and managing testing proposals, ensuring alignment with customer specifications and industry standards.
- Monitor and support management of test execution, coordinate with technicians, and address any issues that arise.
- Communicate proactively with engineers about test progress, results, and troubleshooting measures.
- Prepare and present detailed test report drafts and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
- Must be pursuing a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Industrial Engineering or similar.
- Must be a Junior or Senior.
- 0 years: Technical Writing and Communication: Has written high quality reports and other professional communication for college courses.
- 0 years: Project Management: Is able to take a large task and break it down into smaller communicable and trackable pieces.
- 0 years: Data Analysis and Validation: Has taken a class in or has experience using LABVIEW or Excel to review, edit and/or understand data.
- 0 years: Dynamics and Physics: Has taken course work in dynamics and physics and understands the basic principles behind things like failure modes, vibration, or heat transfer.
- A valid/clear driver's license is required.
