What will you be doing?

Barclays Services Corp. seeks Vice President, CECL Analytics Lead in New York, NY (multiple positions available):

  • Perform financial quantitative analysis for end-to-end project management of CECL (Current Expected Credit Loss) reporting.

  • Responsible for analyzing CECL results, identifying drivers & KPIs responsible for variance, execution of controls, and conducting review meetings with senior management.

  • Analyze and explain any unexpected results and, where necessary, escalate to management.

  • Review management information on impairment metrics to ensure a deep understanding of portfolio performance and flag areas of concern to management.

  • Provide in-depth explanation and drivers of monthly movement as compared to prior month Short Term Plan (STP) and Outlooks.

  • Maintain Procedure documentation on CECL and ensure this is updated on a regular basis.

  • Review model outputs, identify any issues and escalate if appropriate.

  • Produce impairment outlook to sustain capital management activities in the organization.

  • Perform forecasting for impairment by ensuring data and MI for actuals are correct and reconciled to golden sources.

  • May telecommute.

Salary / Rate Minimum/yr: $163,000 per year

Salary / Rate Maximum/yr: $204,375 per year

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

This position is eligible for incentives pursuant to Barclays Employee Referral Program.

Purpose of the role

To evaluate and assess the potential impairment of financial assets, ensuring that the bank's financial statements accurately reflect the economic value of its assets.

Accountabilities

  • Identification of potential impairment triggers, analysis of relevant financial and non-financial information to assess the potential for impairment of financial assets, and application of quantitative and qualitative impairment tests to determine whether an asset is considered impaired.
  • Assessment of the impairment loss for an asset by identification of the right valuation method, assessment of its fair value, and documentation of the process.
  • Calculation of the impairment provision to reflect the impairment loss and prepare clear and accurate impairment disclosures for financial statements.
  • Management of the performance of impaired assets and reassessment of their impairment status on a regular basis. .
